High-quality education for all
With ten years’ experience teaching, a Master’s Degree in Education, and as a parent of three school aged children, Mandy draws on a wealth of experience and data to inform her education policy work. While elected in the 2013-14 legislative session, she served on the Education Committee, was Ranking Member on the Urban Education Committee, and served on the Rural Schools Task Force.
FAIR FUNDING for our schools
Mandy supports Fair Funding for our Schools, an equitable education funding reform plan that ensures every student across Wisconsin has access to the high quality education they are guaranteed by Wisconsin’s Constitution.
Since 2010, Wisconsin has cut more than one billion dollars from our public schools, and millions from our technical schools and UW system, leading to drastic cuts in teachers, programs, and educational opportunities for our kids. This is not acceptable.
We need to roll back funding private school parents through no-income-limit tax credits of up to $10,000 and stop the statewide expansion of taxpayer subsidized private school vouchers that overwhelmingly pay for students already attending private schools.
Mandy supports comprehensive Voucher Accountability because public money belongs in public schools, where there is public accountability.
